About Me
My name is Cyle Witruk and I’m a… well, you guessed it… software engineer!
I started out in the fifth grade, staying in at recess hacking away at the old Apple IIe writing simplistic programs in BASIC. From there I went on to Pascal, VB6 and played around with some web development basics. I became rather proficient in VB6, which eventually landed me a job at a small technology firm called eDentity Media, Inc in 2003. From there on I further developed proficiencies in PHP, HTML, MySQL/MaxDB/MSSQL, .NET and server management (particularly gentoo and FreeBSD). eDentity Media went belly-up in Q1 2007.
Nowadays I own a small comany CCW Technologies, Inc. from which I consult full-time. Currently (and for four years now) I have been working with the Swedish online-payment-solutions company Paynova AB. Over the last two years I have spent the bulk of my free programming-time diligently developing a new fraud screening engine based on my experiences during my time at Paynova. I also spend a lot of time learning new languages, technologies and patterns. The latest “shiny object” that I’m obsessed with would be WPF and Silverlight, which is actually the reason that I started this blog – I’m learning so many new things all of the time now that I want to share them, along with the challenges I faced and how I overcame them. Hopefully a few people will gain something from my blabbering
